Running, but not cooling
Warm air, long runtimes, or a home that will not reach the setting. We check the system’s actual operation before deciding whether the cause is airflow, controls, or the refrigeration side.
A/C repair & diagnostics · Pensacola & surrounding areas
When your A/C is not working properly, start with a service call. Sunset Air & Services works through the problem, explains what was found, and offers a repair before moving forward with approved work.
Common service calls
A no-cool call is not automatically a refrigerant problem, and a stopped system is not automatically a failed thermostat. Testing comes first.
Warm air, long runtimes, or a home that will not reach the setting. We check the system’s actual operation before deciding whether the cause is airflow, controls, or the refrigeration side.
A blank thermostat, intermittent shutdown, breaker concern, or an indoor or outdoor unit that is not running. We trace the operating sequence and safety controls.
Leaks, a full drain pan, a float-switch shutdown, or visible ice need attention. Finding why it happened matters as much as getting the equipment going again.
Tell us which rooms are affected and when the sound occurs. Filters, blowers, duct restrictions, loose components, and equipment condition may all need a closer look.
How we approach the call
We start with the history: what changed, when it happens, and whether it affects the whole home or one area. From there, the checks follow the symptoms—thermostat demand, electrical operation, airflow, coil condition, drainage, and refrigerant performance as appropriate.
We explain the findings and proposed repair, distinguish the immediate problem from optional improvements, and check operation after approved work. If a replacement deserves consideration, we can discuss that separately.

Book the right visit
A maintenance visit needs a running, working system so operation can be checked before and after cleaning. If you already know the equipment has a problem, choose service or repair—not maintenance.

Choose maintenance when
What happens on arrival: If the system is not operating or has a fault, the visit starts as a service diagnostic so the cause can be found and a repair can be offered. Maintenance can follow after the equipment is running. If the system is otherwise working and only needs routine cleaning or condensate-drain service within the maintenance scope, maintenance may be the right visit.
Do not open electrical compartments, bypass a float switch, repeatedly reset a breaker, or chip ice off a coil. Shut the system off at the thermostat if safe when you notice ice, leaking water, or an abnormal operating condition, and call for guidance. Stay away from wet electrical equipment. For smoke, fire, or an immediate electrical danger, leave the area and call emergency services.
